Ian & Daves 25 Hour Radiothon 1st - 2nd May

To celebrate 25 years at Radio Gwendolen, Ian "Sumo" Green and Dave Burrell is hosting a 25 hour radiothon. This is all to raise money to support Radio Gwendolen, and we simply couldn't keep running without your support.

 

Thank you to everyone who has donated and contributed to the event, below is just some of the people who have supported this event.

Zinthiya

 

The Zinthiya Trust is a registered charity that support disadvantaged people including those who are fleeing violence, homeless, vulnerably housed, suffering with food and fuel poverty, people leaving hospital or prison and who are socially excluded due to a number of barriers.

 

Our services include

 

Confidential  advice and support service to survivors of domestic violence, honour based violence, Forced marriages and FGM

 

One to one support and advice for people struggling with issues related to Money and Debt.

 

One to one support for people struggling with Fuel Poverty

 

We also provide work placements and volunteering opportunities for unemployed people/young people to develop skills and move into further education and employment through our cafe the CHAPEL cafe on Bishop Street Leicester.

 

All the above services are free, impartial and confidential.

 

Additionally we provide practical support such as food banks, second hand baby equipment  and receded school Uniforms to support families who are in financial hardship

 

The Charity recently partnership with the Urban Shop on 10 Bishop Street to provide affordable food and small household items for the local community:  People can become members for a little as 1.5 per quarter or £5 per year and shop at the community shop
