ABOUT

Radio Gwendolen is the internal hospital radio service for the patients and staff at the Leicester Geneal Hospital, and is Leicester's longest established hospital broadcasting service.

Set up in 1974 by 2 schoolteachers - Ray Lovejoy and Bernard Smith - the station has evolved from broadcasting in a broom cupboard to it's current home in a purpose built two-studio complex within the hospital.
