Radio Gwendolen is the internal hospital radio service for the patients and staff at the Leicester General Hospital, and is Leicesters longest established hospital broadcasting service.






Radio Gwendolen can be heard on 1287AM (medium wave), and also on the patients bedside radios at the Leicester General Hospital.


The station provides a 24 hour service of music, news and information targeted at the hospital audience.

Radio Gwendolen has a new line of programmes for your enjoyment on Sundays. Ray Jelly moves from Sunday breakfast to mid mornings, and Colin B now takes you through your Sunday lunchtime at the General between 12 and 2.


From 2pm on Sunday afternoons we bring you an hour of the best in popular classical music presented by Ian Green. Norman Rich and Colette Hall can still be heard broadcasting at the later times of 3 and 4pm respecitvely.
